Signed Native American Turquoise Bear Claw Sterling Silver Bolo Tie On Black Leather Cord, Snake Motif

An exceptional signed Native American turquoise bear claw sterling silver bolo tie on a black leather cord. Features a sterling silver slide set with a natural turquoise stone and a genuine bear claw. The slide is heavily decorated, including a silver nugget trim, engraved accents, and an overlayed snake motif. The stone has a pale blue hue with a matrix of inclusions and sits in a jagged bezel setting with woven trim. The bear claw is secured in a silver cap setting with the snake head overtop and flanks the right side of the stone.

The silver has a natural gray patina with polished highlights and purposeful oxidation. There is considerable tarnishing to the silver, most notably on the back and in between highly detailed areas, but nothing that affects the look or function of the piece.

The slide comes on a woven black leather cord with simple silver tips. The back of the setting is signed by the artist, 'R. Leonard', but we could not find any details on its age or origin. In overall great vintage condition with age-appropriate wear and discoloration.
