Rare HERMAN MILLER Eames Lounge Chair & Ottoman In Rosewood Black Leather, Original 1970's Eames Swivel Chair Set
one of a kind
A rare and true vintage original, Herman Miller Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman in black. This chair first debuted in 1956 and is perhaps the most iconic piece to come from an American 20th Century designer. It has been in production ever since and is a true testament of the groundbreaking design.
This rare and remarkably preserved set features the classic, no longer offered, factory original, black leather upholstery and rosewood plywood shell color variation for both the chair and ottoman. The set is a true matched pair, and based on the copyright labels, screw adjust boot glides, double screw armrests, urethane cushions, 5 play shells and overall age/wear can be dated roughly between 1970-1975. This is not a guarantee but a best guess based on the information that we have available. The shells, bases, back braces and screws/attachment components are all fully intact, original, solid and sturdy with no loose or missing components. Still intact and prominent are the Herman Miller labels (see photos).

***A SPECIAL NOTE ON THE AGE OF THIS PIECE***
The exact age of this piece is not finite as several pieces of information that we have on this set are somewhat vague. We estimate this set to be a Series 3/3rd Generation production from the 1970s. This is not a guarantee. We did our best to accurately assess, research and provide as much detail as possible for you to make an informed purchase of this set.
Condition:
This set is in excellent condition overall. It is in an exceptionally preserved state for its age. Notably, the original black leather upholstery is intact and impeccably free of cracks, rips and holes on both the chair and ottoman. The leather should, however, be moisturized before use to prolong the life of the leather/set. It is not dried out but we recommend this before use. The factory original, rosewood shells on both the ottoman and chair display wall scuffs, minor scratches, chips and dings. The shells display no major damages like cracks, damaged screw components or other function altering issues. The original Herman Miller copyright labels and factory labels are intact on both the ottoman and chair. Even the urethane fill label remains intact! Please look over all of the listing photos carefully and ask any questions that you may have. What you see pictured here is what you will be receiving.
