An incredible Black Star Sapphire ring in solid 18k yellow gold. Features a wide graduated band and a dark gray/brown/black cabochon with chatoyant properties (having a changeable luster or color with an undulating narrow band of white light). The iridescent gemstone is bezel set in an undecorated gold frame and boasts an asterism under direct light.
The back of the stone has a large natural fracture, but this cannot be seen from the front of the stone. A few tiny chips/cracks can be seen on the front of the cabochon, but it remains secure in its setting with a primarily polished finish. There are also notable scuffs/dings to the gold facade, but nothing that detracts from the overall aesthetic. The ring is not signed or hallmarked, but the gold has been acid-tested for authenticity. It remains in overall good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear and discoloration.
