Art Deco 14K Diamond Encrusted Amethyst Spider Brooch, Scalloped White Gold Edges, Green Emerald Accents, 2 1/2"

An incredible 14K diamond encrusted amethyst spider brooch with green emerald accents. Features a large yellow gold spider figure with scalloped white gold decoration and large purple amethyst cabochon set in the abdomen. The head of spider is white gold and boasts a .17 CT OEC center diamond with smaller diamond accents, and green emerald cabochon eyes. The ends of the antenna/horns are set with matching green cabochons on the ends, but unfortunately one of them is missing. There are also some soldered marks on the underside of the head indicating a repair to the front leg and/or antenna.

The spider is comprised of two pieces, the leg section and the head/body section, so there is some give/movement where the two pieces connect. Otherwise the brooch remains in good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear and discoloration.
