Amy K. Russell Cat Brooch Pendant, Carved Bone, Sterling Silver, Citrine and Black Onyx, Cat Lover Jewelry

An incredible Amy K. Russell cat brooch with carved bone, sterling silver, citrine, and black onyx. This brooch/pendant features a bezel set piece of raw citrine with a dangling black onyx cabochon. These gemstones are linked to a beige cat figure carved out of bone with stylized features and etchings. The back of the citrine setting features two stamps; one can be made out to read 'sterling' and the other is unclear. Based on our research, we can assume that the second, smaller, unclear, stamp reads 'AKR' the makers mark of jewelry maker Amy K. Russell.

This piece is truly a unique find. The detail work in the etching of the cat in particular is especially strong. The cat is spotted, likely by etching into the bone and then using some sort of black pigment to stain the rough edges made by etching. We’re not sure if it’s exact age but it remains in great aesthetic and multi-functional condition.
