An astounding estate 14K opal diamond halo cocktail ring. Features a huge oval white opal cabochon, 18kt two-tone gold opal and diamond halo ring. Featuring an oval shape cabochon opal center stone, estimated at 14 carat, measuring approximately 23mm x 16mm x 7mm, set in a yellow gold 24-prong crown. The center stone is surrounded by 24 brilliant-cut diamonds, estimated at 1.44 TCW, set in shared prongs in an oval halo. The setting is further embellished with a domed openwork undergallery, a filigree shank, a tapered polished gold band.
The opal has an incredible iridescence, changing between blue, green, purple, and red/pink colors depending on how it's illuminated, and the diamond halo adds an incredible sparkle to the piece. The opal and diamonds are believed to be genuine, however we are not gemstone experts and cannot provide a grading for the stones.
All the diamonds remain secure in their halo frame, and the opal cabochon bears no signs of cracks or chips. Some of the prongs are slightly warped and discolored, but nothing that affects the stone setting or overall aesthetic. There are no notable hallmarks or makers marks on the ring, but the gold has been acid tested for authenticity. In good vintage condition with some minor wear and discoloration.
