1901 Waltham 14K Gold Pocket Watch Converted Ladies Wristwatch, Engine Turned Engraved Hunter-Case, Black Lizard Skin Wristband
one of a kind
The pocket watch is well preserved and boasts an ornate engine turned hand-engraved double-sided flip lid case with art nouveau scroll designs and textures. The crown and guard are set on the right side of the case and press-release to open the front of the case. The white watch dial is protected by a beveled crystal and has large san-serif numbers, blue iridescent hour/minute hands, and an inset seconds sub-dial. The back of the case can be opened with a lip on the edge with a second undecorated back case that protects the movement.
The pocket watch has been hallmarked '14K' on the inside of the second inner case and the gold has been acid tested for authenticity. The inside of the back case has been hand-inscribed with various number/details, probably from previous restorations, but we don't know their exact significance.
This watch has been assessed by our watchmaker and appears to be in good aesthetic and functional condition for its age. There are some minor imperfections to the gold case standard with general wear (small scuffs, scratches, dings), but there are not majors dents or areas of discoloration.
We do recommend professional servicing for any of our vintage/antique watches to ensure they run long into the future.
