A jaw dropping 14k Opal cluster grid ring for an lover of estate jewelry. Features a large rectangular cluster setting with an engraved yellow gold trim, openwork gallery, and polished gold band. The focal point of this piece boasts an incredible set of 30 small round Opal cabochons arranged in 5x6 grid pattern. All of the opals seem to be original with the exception of one (2nd column, 2nd/5th row) where the quality/iridescence looks different (see photos).
The inner band is hallmarked '14k' with an indistinguishable makers mark and a '*8*' inscription denoting the ring size. We're not certain of it's age or origin, but the gold has been acid tested for authenticity.
There are few minor imperfections to the ring, including slight wear and shifting of some of the opal cabochons. There are also residual solder marks left on the ring shank and as well as some scuffs/discoloration to the ring band. Regardless, the ring remains in great vintage condition for it's age.
